In efforts to maintain security in the state, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Gombe State Command has deployed seven hundred and eighty (780 ) personnel, comprising officers and men across the state before, during and after Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Therefore, State Commandant, Muhammad Bello Muazu, has directed all Area Commanders , Divisional Officers and Tactical Commanders drawn from the counter terrorism unit CTU, Special weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear and Explosives (CBRNE) to ensure adequate personnel are deployed at all vulnerable points across the state.
A statement signed by the Public Relations officer of the Command, Superintendant of Corps, Buhari Sa’ad, said NSCDC deployed thier men to safeguard all places of worship, critical infrastructure, designated markets and motor parks, including recreational centers.
Accordingly, Mu’azu appealed to the general public to be moderate in their celebration, urged them to maintained that NSCDC personnel will display a high sense of vigour and professionalism while discharging their duties.
He assured members of the public that the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Gombe State Command will be polite and civil but firm in ensuring security and safety of lives and properties.
