Nigerians irrespective of tribe, religion and political affliation have been urged to be united in praying for the safety of the Armed Forces and other security agencies as the Yuletide season climaxes.

A group, under the aegis of Prayer and Support For the Nigerian Armed Forces and other Security Agencies (PSNAFSA), made the call in a statement by its convener,  Ambassador Mary Abayomi-Fatile yesterday in Lagos.

Fatile, a Lagos based renowned broadcast journalist, said the appeal became necessary, following the doggedness  with which terrorism and other violent crimes in Nigeria are being tackled.

Her words, ” Come rain, come shine, these people are there. As I speak, these military personnel are in the trenches, jungles and creeks protecting us and the nation’s assets.

“Some of them have not gone home for years, let alone  seeing their loved ones”.

Mrs Fatile therefore, appealed to Nigerians to always show  love rather than castigating and critizing them.

Speaking further, Fatile said, “it would be nice to also extend the love to the personnel’s extended family .

” In the United States of America, security agents are celebrated and  honoured”  she stated.

She expressed condolence to  traditional rulers and people of Tudun Biri Community in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State,  that lost their loved ones.

In an emotional laden tone,  Fatile,  said, the Lord Almighty will comfort them and heal the wounded ones.

“Affliction of such  will never arise again”.

Ambassador  Fatile, appreciated the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS),  General Christopher Musa and  the Service Chiefs for their good work in the onslaught against insurgency, since they assumed office, expressing optimism that with the efforts put in place,  insecurity would  be addressed.
