Assistant Corps Commander, Abdurrahman Mohammed Yakasai has assumed duty as the Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Zaria Unit Kaduna State Command.
The new unit commander assumed office on Monday and promised to build on the legacy of his predecessor, Murabus Tata and sustain cordial relationships.
Yakasai who has served in various capacities before his new appointment, advised staff to desist from acts inimical to the corporate image of the FRSC.
He particularly expressed worries over the high rate of accidents on Kaduna-Zaria and Chiromawa routes, which were recently reconstructed.
He attributed the accidents to excessive speed, dangerous overtaking, reckless driving and blatant disregard to road traffic regulations by motorists.
He however, assured the public that FRSC would embark on aggressive sensitisation to check accidents, and called for concerted efforts to address the challenge.
