Ahead of the forthcoming general elections of the Presidential, Senatorial and House of Representatives slatted for February 25, 2023, the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency Kaduna State, candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Hauwa Abdullahi Gambo has called on electorates to ensure they vote for credible candidates not just for political parties.
Hauwa Gambo expressed this on Wednesday in Kaduna during a press briefing, saying that bad leadership and governance result from making the wrong choices during the elections.
She added that, It’s not the president or governors that determine what happens in the society, but the legislators and for that reason, the electorate must ensure they vote for credible candidates because without credible legislators, the governors and president would be handicapped from giving the citizens the life they deserve.
Hauwa said that, “If you want to herald a new era in the leadership, governance and lives of Nigerians, we must remember not to vote in old politicians, because they have been there for the past years and they have failed to deliver to us the quality of life and leadership we deserve.
“We are God given people, because Nigeria is blessed, we must no longer tolerate bad leadership and bad governance, the only way we can accept to do away with that is by voting different, by voting with conscience, by voting capacity and quality.
“I want to call on all of us to ensure that we go to the polls on Saturday peacefully and calmly to vote for our choice of credible candidates. Do not engage or indulge violence or in any manner of corrupt activities at the polls, because all will go to affect the kind of leaders we bring into power,” she advised.
“I want to remind us all, that Nigeria is the only country we have, we therefore, owe it a responsibility and duty to do it right and the only way we can do right is by exercising our civic responsibility to vote right and also ensuring that the elections are peaceful, credible, violence free and we can begin to build a new Nigeria.
“My people, this one is for you because you deserve the best that life has to offer, but that depends on you, it depends on your choice, it depends on who you vote into power to represent you in the national assembly on Saturday,” Hauwa said.
Finally, the ADC House of Representatives candidate, called on all Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency electorate, to ensure that they vote for the life they want to live in the next four years, because it is right there on their thumbs to use it well.
