The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in-charge of Nasarawa Eggon Division in Nasarawa State, Haruna Abdulkarim has been kidnapped by unknown men.
Abulkarim was kidnapped along Bakyano-Arikya, off Nasarawa Eggon-Akwanga road while returning from supervision of officers on duty deployed to provide security of lives and property in the axis.
Information available to journalists at the time of filling this report has it that the DPO has been taken away to an unknown destination.
The kidnappers were said to have contacted his family, demanding N5m ransom.
The Overseer of Akun Development Area, Honourable Moses Anvah, who confirmed the incident said that the matter has since been reported to the Police authorities in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
Efforts to reach the Police PRO, DSP Ramhan Nansel, proved abortive at press time as he fails to respond to calls put across.
