New CP Durosinmi Assumes Duty In Akwa Ibom

The newly posted Commissioner of Police to Akwa Ibom State, CP Olatoye Durosinmi has  assumed duty in the state.

The  command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Odiko MacDon  stated in a statement in Uyo on Thursday.

CP Durosinmi, who assumed duty as the 31st Commissioner of Police in the state, takes over from CP Andrew Amiengheme who has been promoted to the new rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG).

According to the statement, the new CP holds a B.Sc (Hons) degree in Sociology from the University of Ife, an LLB from the Delta State University, Abraka. He was called to Bar in 2001 and has a Master’s degree in Law (LLM) from the Lagos State University. His PHD in Law from Imo State University is in view.

Appointed into the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police on the 3rd of March 1990, served in various capacities and attended Courses both locally and internationally.

Before his present appointment, he has served as Assistant Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations, Imo State Police Command, Assistant Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department, Akwa Ibom Police Command among other positions.

The CP enjoined the People of Akwa Ibom State to remain law abiding and accord him the needed co-operation to fight crime and criminality and continue to make the state one of the most peaceful in the country.
