Unknown gunmen have storms Saya Saya Village in Ikara Local Government area of Kaduna State, killing eight people, who were praying.
The gunmen said to be on three motorcycles on arrival at the mosque premises at about 8:00pm on Friday, they start shooting sporadically.
An eye witness who spoke to New Nigerian on anonymity, said some people were inside the mosque, while some were outside when the gunmen arrived.
According to him, from all indications, they were on a mission on a particular person, who is suspected to be among the eight killed.
He said, the gunmen left without abducting anybody, however, those in the area are living in fear over possible return of the bandits
The Kaduna State Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Muhammad Jalige on phone, confirmed the incident, informing that details would be made available shortly.
