Tinubu Backtracks, Replaces Ondo NDDC’s Nominee, Akinjo

President Bola Tinubu has approved the immediate replacement of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC)’s Ondo State representative nominee, Mr. Victor Akinjo, with a new Ondo State Representative nominee, Hon. Otito Atikase. 
Pockets of protests had erupted in Ondo State over the choice of Akinjo who is a member of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP). 
New Nigerian had reported that some youth in the state had wielded placard with various inscriptions to express their displeasure over the nomination of Akinjo. 
On Friday, the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, announced the replacement of the embattled former House of Representatives Member. 
The statement reads, “The President has equally approved the immediate replacement of the NDDC’s Cross River State Representative nominee, Mr. Asi Oku Okang, with a new Cross River State Representative, Rt. Hon. Orok Otuk Duke.” 
“Furthermore, the immediate past Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, is reappointed for a second term and will remain in acting capacity, pending the Senate’s confirmation of his reappointment.”
