It was confusion galore as unknown gunmen on Friday night attacked the correctional centre in Abolongo, Oyo town setting free all the prisoners at the centre
New Nigerian gathered that the gunmen invaded the Correctional centre at about 10.00pm shooting sporadically into the Correctional centre thereby throwing the security men at the centre into confusion.
The gunmen were said to have on getting to the entrance of the Correctional centre fired grenades to blow up the entrance.
On entering the centre, the gunmen were said to have reportedly set all the prisoners at the centre free before departing the place
However, sources said the gunmen attack left the facility in disarray with warders scampering for safety while other security agencies were later mobilised to the area.
New Nigerian gathered on Saturday morning that security have been beefed up at the centre with armed security men monitoring movement of people into and across the area.
