Kaduna State People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has expressed satisfaction over the peaceful elections conducted on the February 25, 2023 and applauded the efforts being put in place by citizens of the electorate to ensure PDP returns power back to power in the state.

Speaking during a press briefing held on Wednesday in Kaduna, the PDP State Chairman, Hon. Hassan Hyat thanked the people for coming out to vote en-masses during the presidential, Senate and National Assembly general elections.

Hyat added that the confidence and efforts of Kaduna people was clearly demonstrated through the outcome of the elections, saying “for the first time in the history of the country, PDP clinched all the three (3) Senatorial seats and ten (10) out of the sixteen (16) House of Representatives members in the state.

According to him, in 2019 general elections, the state PDP produced the highest number of votes for the presidential candidate, the Wazirin Adamawa, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and now has also produced same for him during the 2023 presidential polls.

He said, “it is the people of Kaduna State that have demonstrated their love and confidence in the party and we appreciate it, because we do not take that for granted and we want to assure them more is expected as we approach the 11th of March were we’ll go to the polls again to elect the governor and State House of Assembly members.

Furthermore, the PDP State Chairman once again, appealed to the people of Kaduna State to finally come out and say goodbye to the “retrogressive regime” of APC in the state for them to be confined in the dustbin of history.

“In doing that, I want to call on all other parties that participated in the last Saturday elections to come up and joined hands with PDP for the sake of Kaduna State and the people of the state, while I assure them that PDP is home to all and we should all secure the government of PDP for the people and for the progress of Kaduna state.

“Also, I want to appeal that, the outcome of the presidential elections which is very unacceptable did not meet the democratic requirements of any modern democracy, so it should not be a reason why people shouldn’t come out to vote again, because we’ll support our presidential candidate and the party leadership at the highest level in any decisions it will take to challenge these rape on democracy.

“We want to make it very clear to all that Nigeria belongs to us all and that must talk about the votes must count that became the mantra of even the umpire, in which the INEC has not demonstrated and it is a shame, so we therefore, call on lovers of democracy to rise up to the challenge and ensure that justice, equity and fairness are done.

“Once more, the people of Kaduna State, I thank you more sincerely for your faith in the PDP, and I assure you that your confidence is not misplaced and that by the grace of God, Kaduna State will rise again and become a centre of attraction for the people of the State and for all Nigerians.
