Following an exclusive report published by New Nigerian Newspapers online about the lynching of an undergraduate in Lagos, some community representatives paid a visit to our Lagos office on Monday and cleared the air on some issues.

Speaking on behalf of the relatives of the lynched young man , a community leader Morgan Stanley said that it was a case of mistaken identity.

“It has come to our notice that one Dim Chigozie Charles who was lynched in Ojo area of Lagos, published in your newspaper on 2nd of August, 2022 before his death was never involved in armed robbery,” the relatives said.

According to a leader in the community, he explained that the victim was depressed from long strike by ASUU.

“He left home only on the said day, only to be lynched by mob who mistook him for an armed robber.

“He was innocent and has never been involved in any illegal activity while alive,” he explained.
