Governor Bala Mohammed has said that some disgruntled elements who last month tried to ignite mayhem in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area of Bauchi State have been arrested and would be made to face the wrath of the law.
The trouble shooters, he said, went round some communities in the area with campaigns of calumny that Christian faithful are planning to launch an attack on Muslims with a view to decimate them from the LG area.
“There was a time last month, some people were trying to create mischief, trying to use some development to ignite crisis. A pastor was killed and I sent my Special Adviser on Security there, I discovered that it was a political creation in order to cause strife”, he said.
The Governor, in a special reception at the weekend by the Bauchi Christians community, assured that the state government would get to the root of the matter and those behind the act, would be punished no matter how highly placed in the society.
“Some people went round, telling some communities in Tafawa Balewa that the Christians would attack them. We have already arrested those culprits and they are going to face the law”, governor stated, adding, ‘I thank our mothers and fathers for exercising restraint”.
Senator Bala Mohammed who further assured the Christmas celebrants that government would not allow anybody to use communities to gain cheap popularity, said “I know there are some projects on ground like the CAN Secretariat, I will build that one, along with that of Jama’atul Nasril Islam so that there would be parity, justice and equity”.
The Governor, also told the Christians that it is part of his tenets to respect anybody because that was how he was made up, “I’m part and parcel of you, I have Muslims and Christians in my family”.
He added, “I came from this part of the World where we respect everybody. Yes, I’m from a royal family, but our royalty begets respect and humility”.
Bala said that he noticed a spirit of disparity and illusion in the minds of Christians folk on his assumption to office, hence his resolve to ensure justice and equity by bringing into governance and creating inclusion to accommodate all and sundry.
