Kogi State, hundreds of issues unite us, only a few irrelevant issues divide us. To some, it is absolutely normal to disagree on those flimsy unconvincing, lame issues. For those with progressive minds, their conscience goes along way in speaking to them not minding what selected few will say.
This create a multiplier mutual distrust amongst “kogite” that affect the progress of its human resources. Human remains the most critical and important factor for any society to succeed.
Kogites for years have made made wrong choices in the selection of those saddled with the responsibility of leading the lugard house. However, an opportunity has come ones again for us to take our destiny in to our hands
Juxtaposing all those seeking to represent us in the November 2023 governorship election, Senator Dino Melaye stands out as the most qualified candidate to lead the state in the next four years. This is not a statement born out of ethnic loyalty but of a progressive mind. For the record, I am an Igala man from Ankpa while Senator Dino Melaye is an Okun man from Ayetoro Gbede in Ijimu.
Dino no doubt has been a democracy champion from his days as a student in Ahmadu Bello University. He served as a member of House of representative and also Senator of the federal Republic of Nigeria.
This no doubt is an intimidating profile that none of the candidate in other political party can match. His humanitarian accolade is so numerous and rich to be appreciated at a glance.
This brings me to one of the main issue that tickles my fancy about Senator Dino, he is not someone who believes in traditional or tribal social structure designed by selfish individuals to achieve selfish desires but rather a champion of competency and moral.
A man who has sponsored over 20 bills and moved over 30 motion in the 8th assembly , a man who’s survival and happiness depends on how many people he blesses, a man who stop at nothing to help other through the ladder of life, in a country where only those privileged to know who is who gets to make it, a man who sends a hand of friendship to his none kinsmen, a man who’s disdain for nepotism and subjection of his state citizens has been the only crime he has committed, a man who’s propensity to tell truth to kogi state government has made him a man to beat among the young Igala breeds.
Don’t get it twisted, I have never been fortunate enough to meet him but one thing I know for sure is that he will beat the standard and perception I have about him any day I am fortunate enough to meet him. I will be actively involved in making sure he gets in to Lugard House, in sha Allah.
Among those aspiring to lead Kogi State, the personality of Senator Dino Melaye is not only standing tall, but very intimidating. He is a shining example of a bridge builder, who relates so well with every tribe in Kogi State.
Dino is one, among the few Kogi State’s politicians endowed with a proven track records for selfless services to anyone lucky enough to have met him irrespective of your tribe.
He is absolutely the man who the cap fits.
