Report Any  Cleric Engaging In Practices Alien To Islamic Dictates –  Oyo Muslim Community

*League of Imams and Alfas to set up Disciplinary Committee over arrest of three with human parts

The Muslim Community of Oyo State on Saturday, asked the people of the state to report any Islamic cleric or Mallam (teacher) found engaging in sharp practices alien to Islam practice.

Addressing a press conference in Ibadan on the recent arrest of three people caught with human parts in Ibadan, the Chairman of the community, Alhaji Isiaq Kunle Sanni  said the people of the state should without waisting any time report such Islamic cleric or teacher for proper investigation. 

According to him, the Muslim 

community will continue to follow the case until the culprits are brought to book. 

Alhaji Sanni disclosed that the league of Imams and Alfas led by the Chief Imam of Ibadanland has concluded plans to set up a disciplinary committee where any Islamic cleric suspected to be engaging in unlawful activities would be reported for investigations. 

“Report them, if anyone is spending money recklessly, report them. Anyone that we want to put forward as leaders, we must check their background. We will follow the case up. We say we will follow the case up. We will follow it to the logical conclusion.We should be watchful of the Mallams teaching our children the knowledge of Islam”, he said 

Alhaji Sanni added, ” The league of Imams and Alfas led by the Chief Imam of Ibadan land, Alhaji Abdulganiy Abubakri Agbotomokekere is setting up a disciplinary committee where Mallams suspected of engaging in kufr practices alien to the Islamic culture would be reported for investigation and punishment that may lead to being ostracized from the league.” 

He then urged Muslims in Oyo state not to take laws into their hands, saying, ” while we call for caution and appeal to Muslims not to take the laws into their hands, we want the public to know of our preparedness to follow the prosecution of these men of evil to its logical conclusion”. 

New Nigerian recalls that three persons, identified as Muibi Ramoni Opeyemi, Taofeeq Olalekan Kabeloun and Tayo Akinrinola were caught with fresh human parts few days ago in Ibadan.
