The Bishop of First Baptist Church Zaria, Rev. Isaac Gbadero has urged Nigerians to reflect on the resurrection of Jesus Christ, rededicate themselves to living in peace, oneness and love of God.

He stated this in his Easter message in Zaria, adding that, despite rising insecurity in states across the federation, Nigerians should not lose trust in God,

Rev. Gbadero said he advocates for peace to reign in the country as peace and unity are the prerequisites to the progress and development of the entire country.

He condemned the rising cases of killings, banditry and kidnapping in the country which he said, “we are to bring it to the end by ourselves before God showers mercy on us.”

He warned leaders to fear God and lead people with kindness and love not to continue ruling with a dictatorial approach.

The cleric reminded those ruling the country to remember that sooner or later, they will leave the offices they are occupying.

“The feast of Easter lies at the heart of our Christian faith. At the start of our forty-day Lenten journey, through the mark of ashes in the sign of the cross, we were reminded that, as humans, we will die.

“Yes, everyone will die, sooner or later. Nevertheless, because of Christ’s resurrection, death no longer has any claim upon us.

“We know that God has the ultimate say. God’s Word for us is the same as His Word for Jesus Christ, who was crucified, died, laid in the tomb and resurrected. He lives; and therefore, we do. We live in Him!” He declared.
