Christians all over the country have been admonished to accept our Lord Jesus Christ as the only solution to our numerous problems especially at this period of economic recession.
The call was made by Rev. Fr Anthony Ntiero Bassey, while giving his Homily to mark the Easter Sunday at St. Mary’s Pro-Cathedral, Efut Abua, Calabar.
He recalled that Christians had fasted for 40 days during the Lentan but today “we tend to forget so many things because of the resurrection of Christ Jesus”.
According to him “fear gripped the Disciples when Jesus had told them that he was going to die”.
However, “today, after the resurrection, the case became very different. So many people heard that Jesus had risen and ran to see the Tomb whether it was true indeed”.
Jesus, he said , appeared to only those who believed in Him. As Christians we don’t have any reason not to believe in Christ resurrection.
“His resurrection is a matter of faith. As Christians, we must begin to believe that Christ has resurrected and will die no more, Ntiero added”.
He called on Catholic faithful to believe in the resurrection of Christ Jesus  at all times, adding “the closer we become, the better for us to grow spiritually”.
Ntiero reminded them that Christ died for our redemption and until we believe in Him our problems shall remain unsolved.
The Gospel reading was taken from the Book of John 20:1-9.
The climax of the celebration saw Catholic faithfuls dancing and rejoicing that “Christ Jesus has Risen from the dead”.
