Ramat Cup Holds February, 12

Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria has concluded plans to stage this year’s edition of the annual Late Gen.. Murtala Ramat Mohammed football competition for U-16 boys and U-18 girls competition tagged ‘Ramat Cup’ in Kano, Kano State Capital between, February 12 & 16th, 2017.
According to a statement from the Federation Headquarter signed by its National Secretary, Patrick Okpavuerhe, he
advised participating states to ensure their representatives are the champions of the states even as he charged the various state chapters to organise their state play- offs to enable them select the best team that will represent them in Kano.
The statement also enjoined all the state chapters to ensure they pay their affiliation fees to be eligible to be part of the tournament supply the national secretariat with the recent passport photographs of their players which will be pasted in a file, a group photograph of the players with a form filed indicating name, date of birth, age body weight and height as well as report of their state’s playoffs before the commencement of the competition.
It noted that all teams are expected to arrive Kano Pillars Stadium, Sabon Gari, Kano venue of the championship on or before today Friday, February,10th, 2017 for screening just as he stated that a body weight of 58kg and a maximum height of 1.75m will be used and when in doubt, facial appearance will be used for the screening exercise.
Speaking on the competition, National President of the Federation, Nasiru Gawuna assured all participating states that this year’s edition will be among the best organised Ramat Cup in recent times positing that Kano State Government has assured that all logistics will be on ground before the commencement of the competition.
Gawuna, while commending Kano State Government for its consistency in sponsoring the tournament appealed to other states to emulate them and sponsor YSFON competitions.
Meanwhile the body has announced that its National Executive Council meeting will hold on Sunday, February, 19 in Kano.
The Federation advised all those eligible to attend to notify the national secretariat on or before Saturday, February 11 and ensure they arrive the ancient city of Kano on the 17th.
