Women leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kaduna State, Maryam Suleiman will over the weekend, share grains, rice and other food items to the needy amongst Muslim faithful to ease their fasting during Ramadan.
Hajiya Maryam fondly called Mairusau by her admirers, said the passion of rendering assistance to people has been the driving force for her action.
The Kaduna ruling party women leader eulogized leadership qualities of the state’s governor, Malam Nasir el-Rufai, saying he has recorded milestone achievements within a short period of time, changing the face of the capital of old Northern Region.
” The governor has been able to establish the fact that development is achievable through a responsive and effective leadership.
” People of the state were resistant of laudable steps taken by Malam as we call him from the initial stage, thinking he was out there to witch-hunt some political adversaries.
” But today, even his critics are impressed and have good things to say about his laudable feat in renewing urban areas of the state.
” On my part, I will be a supportive figure of the women, particularly the less privileged amongst them, comprising widows, petty traders among others, who are in need of financial support to cushion the effects of the current hard times.
“All these, I do on my own to show that the ruling APC in Kaduna State is comprised of individuals with the interest of the masses at heart as against the general notion propagated by the opposition that we are elitist in nature and out there to cause pain on citizens, ” she said.
