Vocational education has been described as one of the channels towards promotion of  self-reliance through  creation of different skills acquisition programmes that reduce unemployment in Nigeria.

This was stressed by Malam Yusuf Sa’ad,  when our correspondent visited local key holder industry at Kunnawa Majema in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area, adding that local key holder production has became an employment opportunity to their kids, especially at present when the globe is advancing in self-reliance.

“We are happy to inform you that our kids are now equipped with good knowledge on how to depend on themselves like what you have seen and we are here  with the children daily after school hours, and I  assure you that the local key holder production is a nice occupation that brings profit daily,”  he said.

In his remarks, Malam Nasir Dalha announced that people of all categories are busy in Kunnawa Majema because their town is very popular in all kinds of  hides and skin remodelling that is being exported to different countries.

He called on the federal, states and local government councils to establish  vocational training centres for the young generation and other categories of people  to develop economic progress, especially nowadays with the growing  need to switch to entrepreneurship at all levels.
