Efforts of the Rivers State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) at encouraging productivity among its officers has taken a new dimension as it has set up a welfare committee for the command.
The five man committee is saddled with the task of designing a welfare initiative for operatives of the service.
A statement by the public relations officer of the command on behalf of the Comptroller James Sunday stated that welfare package will be sourced from the Corporate Social Responsibility of friendly organisations that relates with the service in the area of health care,affordable lifestyle for staff in supplying food stuff and other consumables for the wellbeing of officers and men of the command at affordable rates.
The statement added that, ” As a prudent way of engaging our officers and men,their health care and family is of essence,hence the need for this welfare committee.
” No officer is tasked,rather friendly companies assist in supplying consumables that are essential for the needs of the officers. We appreciate the leadership of the Comptroller General of Immigration Service Isa Jere Idris for taking officers welfare utmost in his leadership mandate”.
