President Muhammadu Buhari has commissioned projects executed by his administration at Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, (NCAT) Zaria.
Commissioning via Virtual ceremony, President Buhari said his government has given the aviation industry favourable consideration because of its importance to the economic growth of the nation.
He said, by this development, Nigeria will benefit more from the aviation sector both nationally and international.
According to him, NCAT becomes a center of excellence in the aviation industry as recognized by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
He said, NCAT will begin to run commercial flights following this tremendous development in the college.
While commissioning the projects, President Buhari commended NCAT management for sustaining the college’s mandate and the utilization of the facilitates accordingly.
In his remarks, the Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Abubakar Sirika said, NCAT has been in the forefront in producing manpower for the aviation industry in Nigeria and beyond.
Sirika who expressed appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari for his support to the aviation sector, particularly NCAT, said the college will continue to grow from strength to strength.
The minister expressed confidence that the facilitates provided at NCAT will boost the college’s capacity of producing standard personnel.
The Rector of the Nigerian College Aviation Technology, Captain Alkali Mahmud Moddibo, said that President Buhari has done so much for the college, which includes provision of new aircrafts and upgrading their facilities for the smooth training of students.
Captain Alkali said the college has won several awards, which earned them an ICAO centre of
excellence.
The projects are six Diamond DA40NG and One DA42NG Aircraft, MAGNUS Aircraft Assembly, AET School building, Automated Fire/Smoke Aircraft Training Simulator and Boeing 737 Flight Simulator building.
Others are, B k ring 737NG Full flight Simulator, Boeing 737 NG Integrated procedural training, Ultra Modern Auditorium Complex and ATSEP Basic Online ICAO Training Package.
