Polls: Choose Unbiased Leaders, Masari Tasks Katsina Christians

Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State has enjoined Christians in the state to ensure right choice of unbiased leaders during the forthcoming general elections.  

Governor Aminu Bello Masari was speaking at the second day prayer summit and award presentation ceremony organized by the State Chapter of Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN).

He observed that Nigeria has suffered economically as a result of failure of some past leaders to make heavy investments in the education sector.

The governor urged the Christians to enroll their wards to pursue Western education as a step to become useful members of the society.

Governor Aminu Masari who identified indigenous Christians as citizens with equal rights, thanked the state branch of the association for honoring him with the award.

On his part, the state chairman of association Reverend Richard Shu’aibu said the decision to honor the Governor with the award was in recognition his unbiased leadership and his firm commitment in repositioning the state to greatness.

Earlier, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Christian Affairs, Reverend Ishaya Garba thanked the governor for carrying along Christians in the governance.

The Anglican Communion of Katsina, Bishop Jonathan BaMaiyi prayed for God’s intervention on security challenges and peaceful conduct of the forthcoming general elections.

Highlights of the ceremony included presentation of an award to the governor, alongside  the Senator representing Funtua, Senator Bello Mandiya, APC chieftain, Ibrahim Masari and some Christian leaders.

 The State Chapter of Catholic Women Group also presented an award to the governor.
