Police Investigating Death Of OAU 200 Level Female Student In Soakaway – PPRO

The Osun State Command of the Nigeria Police has said that it is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a part two female student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife who died in a soakaway on Wednesday.

According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the University, Mr Biodun Olarewaju, men of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Osun State Police Command have taken over the investigation 
Also, Mr Olanrewaju in the statement said the OAU management has issued query to owner of the private hostel, BVER, where the incidence occurred and that his response is being awaited.
The OAU Management lamented the death of the part two student of the Department of Linguistics and African Languages, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Miss Ajibola Heritage Ayomikun.
In the statement, the OAU Management expressed sadness over the death of Heritage, describing it as ” tragic, devastating, unfortunate and unacceptable.”
The statement emphasized that all the hostels in the students village are privately owned and they are not under the control of the University, ” the University Management presently has only oversight functions on these private hostels.”
It will be recalled that the 200 level female student who resided in one of the PRIVATE HOSTELS, BVER, fell into  the septic tank of the hostel through an opening that was allegedly not properly covered.
