Police In Bauchi Recover Kidnappers’ Den,  Armoury

Police operatives in Bauchi State have unearthed an armoury of suspected kidnappers at Tudun Wada area of Liman Katagum in Bauchi Local Government Area of the state.

The operatives also recovered one LAR rifle, 49 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, nine AK-47 magazines and one pair of army camouflage trousers.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil in a  statement in Bauchi  on Sunday, disclosed  the revelations to the journalists.

SP Ahmed Wakil explained that the recoveries were done during an operation on Sunday following intelligence report to the command.

He explained that the operation was led by the Divisional Police Officer in Katagum Divisional Police Headquarters.

Wakil said, “In its recent sustained operations which, in recent days recorded tremendous successes by denying miscreants a breathing space to carry out their nefarious activities, operatives of the command acted on credible intelligence and recovered an armoury of suspected kidnappers”.

He added, “On 22nd January, 2023, a patrol team attached to Liman Katagum Divisional Police Headquarters le by the DPO went on patrol around the Tudun Wada area of Liman Katagum, Bauchi LGA”.

“Consequently, an underground armoury and the following items were recovered namely Three AK47 rifles, one LAR rifle, 49 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, nine camouflage jacks and one pair of police camouflage trousers”.

SP Wakil further explained that the state commissioner of police, CP Aminu Alhassan while commending the command’s operatives, ordered round-the-clock surveillance around the area in a bid to arrest the fleeing miscreants.
