In a befitting tribute to late Sir Lucky Babatunde Omoluwa, the Kaduna Golf Club hosted a spectacular one-day tournament that attracted golfers from across the nation.
The event, held at the esteemed Kaduna Golf Club, witnessed the participation of over 250 golfers, creating a vibrant atmosphere that celebrated the memory of a man who left an indelible mark on the golfing community.
The tournament, organized with meticulous details by a dedicated committee chaired by Engr Andrew Yakubu, not only showcased the prowess of the participating golfers, but also served as a poignant reminder of the late Sir Lucky Babatunde Omoluwa’s enduring legacy within the club.
During the prize presentation ceremony, Engr Andrew Yakubu took a moment to pay a heartfelt tribute to the departed golf enthusiast, emphasizing the significance of immortalizing his memory through such a prestigious competition.
He expressed gratitude to all the players for their active participation, recognizing their pivotal roles in ensuring the success of the event.
“Today, we gather not just to compete, but to remember and honour a true icon of our golfing community, the late Sir Lucky Babatunde Omoluwa. His passion for the sport and dedicated service as one of our trustees, has left an indelible mark on Kaduna Golf Club. Thank you to each and every one of you for being part of this commemorative tournament,” Engr Andrew Yakubu remarked.
The club captain, Mr. Ken Nwanko, echoed Engr Yakubu’s sentiments, describing the late Sir Lucky Babatunde Omoluwa as a stalwart in the world of golf.
Mr. Nwanko reflected on the significant contributions made by Omoluwa, highlighting his role as a trustee of the club and emphasizing how his love for the game had positively influenced the club’s growth and camaraderie.
