Panic Grips Communities As Miyeti Allah President Is Allegedly Whisked Away By Security Operatives

The President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bello Bodejo, has been allegedly arrested by the operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), over the creation of a vigilante group in Nasarawa State.

Bodejo was said to have been arrested yesterday at the Miyetti Allah’s Head Office, Tundun Maliya Cattle Market, Kilometre 22, Abuja-Keffi Expressway, Tundun-Wada, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

The DSS operatives alongside some soldiers of the Nigerian Army, were said to have stormed the Miyetti Allah’s Head Office close to Goshen Church, at about 3:40 pm on Tuesday, as they drove off after arresting Bodejo at the gate.

Bodejo has been linked with the creation of Fulani Vigilante group with the aim of combating banditry and other related crimes relating to herdsmen.

The Miyetti Allah’s Headquarters was captured at different times by surveillance cameras, holding military training sessions at nights thereby, prompting investigations that let to his arrest.

Meanwhile, communities around the area including Auta Balefi (Goshen City), Masaka, Uke, Tudun wada are in great fear that the aftermath of the arrest could lead to attacks on them.

However, the Department of State Services (DSS) has said that Bello Bodejo, is not in its custody.

Peter Afunanya, spokesperson of the DSS, made the clarification in a terse statement sent to newsmen yesterday evening.

“He’s not with the DSS,” Afunanya said in a response to an enquiry seeking confirmation of Bodejo’s purported arrest by the secret police.

There have been reports that Bodejo was arrested by the DSS on Tuesday at the Miyetti Allah’s office in Karu LGA of Nasarawa state, over the unveiling of a vigilante group.
