The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council has lauded the Chairman of the Absolute Success Ltd, owner of Ibadan-based Travels and Tours firm, Ufit Fly brand, Mr. Ajibola Ogunkeyede for extending the ongoing pilgrimage experience to its State Secretary, Com. Sola Oladapo.
Oyo NUJ in a statement in Ibadan by the Council Chairman, Comrade Ademola Babalola, described the Ufit Fly gesture to NUJ as commendable and that Evangelist Ogunkeyede has proven again that he is a true and committed supporter of the union and journalism profession.
“This is a very good gesture to NUJ in Oyo State. Evangelist Ajibola Ogunkeyede is a long time friend of our noble union. My leadership had barely 30days after taking over the mantle of leadership of Oyo NUJ, led my team to his office in Ibadan in January 2020, where we mooted the idea of partnering Ufit Fly for international training tours for journalists in the state”, he said.
Comrade Babalola added, “He, Jibola Ogunkeyede did not only welcome the idea, he also directed his staff to begin the process of fast tracking a partnership with NUJ. He also agreed in principle with the NUJ Chairman, Ademola Babalola to jointly put up a Memorandum of Understanding in this regard.
“But days after this meeting, COVID-19 pandemic broke out across the globe and the countries of the world including Nigeria shut borders and locked down activities.
This affected the union’s drive to seek international exposure for its members till date”.
The Oyo State NUJ Chairman stressed, ” but just few weeks ago, Ajibola Ogunkeyede again made unofficial visit to the Ademola Babalola-led Executive to felicitate on their re-election for a period of another three years where he immediately announced a Jerusalem slot for the union.
‘And that was why I immediately asked the Secretary, Sola Oladapo to submit his traveling passport to him for processing. Today, I am happy and the union is pleased to announce that Ajibola Ogunkeyede fulfilled his promise as our secretary is now in Jerusalem for the weeklong spiritual exercise courtesy of Ufit Fly.
“He, Sola Oladapo has called to express his happiness with the state of the art facilities put in place by the Ufit Fly to make the exercise a worthwhile spiritual experience for all their pilgrims.
Chairman, we are very happy here and every pilgrim is full of thanks and praises to Ufit Fly for their organization and more importantly all of us are in jubilant mood to welcome Prophet Taiwo Ojo who happens to be the conveyer of this trip. We are presently in Nazareth and we will be visiting Hlha’s valley Telaviv; River Jordan;
Mont of beatitudes; Mont olive
Capernaum; Sea of Galille; Tomb of Jesus Christ, among other places,’
Comrade Babalola maintained, ” on behalf of all the Journalists in Oyo State, this is to express our heartfelt appreciation to the management and staff of Absolute Success, owner of the Ufit Fly for this commendable gesture.”
