Over 57,000 Children To Be Immunised Against Polio In Jigawa LGA

More than 57,145 children in Malam- Madori LGA in  Jigawa State are expected to be immunized against polio virus in the ongoing  immunization exercise in the area, the State Technical Facilitator, Malam Usman Binyaminu has disclosed.
Speaking at the commencement of the exercise on Sunday in Malam- Madori, he said the exercise was in furtherance to last year’s polio vaccination excercise which recorded a huge success.
He therefore, urged the council’s Chairman, Malam Hussaini Umar, to attend the daily briefing meeting towards promoting stakeholders engagement to facilitate the successful conduct of the exercise.

On his part, the Health Educator in the area, Hamisu Muhammad said the council received 66,150 doses of Oral Polio Vaccine and employed 109 adhoc staff for the exercise.
Also speaking, the manager primary healthcare in the area, Hamza Bello sought the support of community and religious leaders to mobilise participation for the exercise.

In his remarks, the council chairman, Hussain Umar BK pledged maximum support for the smooth conduct of the exercise.
