Team Kaduna’s male and female volleyball teams showed no respect to the 2021 National Youth Games (NYG) table toppers as they thrashed them by 2-0 apiece in the Beach Volleyball events.
The Kada Girls displayed superiority by thrashing their opponents 2-0, just as the male team replicated same feat in semi finals of beach volleyball.
With the victory, the el-Rufai boys and girls have landed themselves in the finals of both male and female beach volleyball at the 6th NYG, ongoing at the University of Ilorin.
Their victory is not coming as a surprise, owing to the fact that the hardworking NIgeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) President, Engineer Musa Nimrod who is also the Chairman of Kaduna Volleyball Association as well as North West Zonal representative on the NVBF board has motivated the team.
Reacting to the double final entry of Team Kaduna in the beach volleyball finals, the state’s Director of Sports, Alhaji Yakubu Ibrahim described it as resounding.
“We are excited by the development. It shows that the grassroots sports development policy thrust of His Excellency, Governor Nasir el-Rufai is yeilding results,” he said.
