Following the crisis rocking the Ebonyi State Chapter of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the national working committee of the party has nullified all the primary elections conducted by the former chairman, Barr. Silas Onu on 28th and 29th May, 2022 across the state and also reinstated the former chairman, Hon.Tochukwu Okorie.
This was contained in a letter emanating from NWC to Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) to cancel all the purported primaries conducted last Saturday, 28th and Sunday,29th May,2022 in Ebonyi State for violating party guidelines and the committee that conducted the Primaries does not form quorum.
These includes House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate and Gubernatorial Primaries.
The letter reads:“ This is to bring to your kind attention that the National Working Committee of the People’s Democratic party (PDP) has cancelled the congresses in Ebonyi State which purportedly took place on 28th May,2022 for the state House of Assembly, House of Representatives and Senate.
“They party also canceled the gubernatorial congress held on May 29th, 2022.
“The congresses were cancelled for violating the guidelines of the party as the committee that purportedly conducted them did not form the required quorum.
“The commission will be informed shortly of the new date for the congresses.
“Please accept the assurances of our highest regards.”
