Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna,
has concluded plans for the conduct of Second edition of Northern States Unity (Open)
Chess Championship tagged “kaduna 2022”.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Zonal Sports Officer,
North-West, Alhaji Abdullahi Idris, dated January 25, which informed that the championship will be held at the ABS Media Centre from February 9 to 13.
“Please, this is to inform you and the General Public that all arrangements have been Concluded by the North-West Zonal Sports Office of the Federal Ministry of Youthand Sports Development In collaboration with Kaduna State Ministry of Sports for the conduct of the above tournament under the Sponsorship of Alhaji Ademola Ali, the North-West Zonal Representative on the Board of Nigeria Chess Federation,” it said.

The Zonal Sports Officer further informed that the event will commence at the slated days from 9:30am daily.
“Be further informed that various Prizes i.e. Cash, Certificates, Trophies, Plaques etc. has been earmarked,” it added.
The Zonal office stressed that in view of importance they collectively attach to all-round development of their youth through sports and its related activities, they wish to passionately urge the media to give the statement the widest publicity it deserves.
The North West Zonal office covers Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara states.
