The National Orientation Agency (NOA), in collaboration with Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Gusau branch and National Union of Roads Transport Workers (NURTW) Zamfara State branch have organized a sensization campaign on the deadline of acceptability of old Naira notes by CBN.

The campaign was held at Gusau Central Motor Park on Friday to educate the people more on the Naira notes deadline.

The three authorities called on motorists, passengers, small scale traders and public in the state central motor park to as a matter of urgency go to the nearby commercial banks and deposit the affected old Naira notes before January 31 deadline as directed by CBN.

The acting Director of NOA, Zamfara State branch, Aminu Ibrahim advocated the needs for everyone to abide by CBN directive and deposit their money or purchase some tangible assets with their money before the 31st January as stipulated by CBN.

“NOA in Zamfara State in collaboration with CBN and all relevant authorities will continue to educate and enlighten the general public on the old Naira notes deadline by CBN which is stipulated on 31st January this year”. Aminu said

“The selected old Naira notes which comprised N200, N500 and N1000 will not be accepted by 31st January as legal tender and store of value, so we are enlightening the general public to try as much as they can to deposit their affected old notes or purchase some tangible assets before the deadline with their money.

Aminu advised public to ignore the rumors that the CBN will postpone the deadline of N200,N500 and N1000 old Naira denomination changing, describing the rumors as baseless and rootless.
