The month of May is a very special month in the history of the Catholic church, it is believed that the month of May is the month of Virgin Mary the Mother of Jesus who is truly God and truly man. Mary’s intercession to christ is believed to be second to none.

In view of that, the Catholic church will be embarking on prayers throughout the month of May for the pressing needs of the church, the nation, families and private individuals.
St. Mary’s Catholic church Ifitedunu, in Anambra State has solely dedicated prayers for the month of May to Jesus, through the intercession of Mary his mother for the quick release of the Leader of the Indiginous People Of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
It is no longer news that hoodlums hide under the umbrella “IPOB” to cause chaos in Anambra State, killing innocent people and doing all sorts of evil things in the South-East.
Monday sit-at-home has become a terror for Ndi-Igbo, because Nnamdi Kanu is still detained by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
Believing that Nnamdi Kanu’s release will put an automatic stop to this crisis, Very Rev Fr Venantius Ogbuagu, the Parish Priest of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ifitedunu, Anambra State has called for sessions of prayers for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, urging the federal government to do the needful while hoping on God for prayers answered.
