The second edition of the North-West Zone U-15 Indoor Volleyball Championship tagged “Sokoto 2022” is expected to serve off on February 25, 2022.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Zonal Sports Officer,North-West Zone, Kaduna AlhajiIdris Abdullahi, made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Wednesday February 23.
“Please, this is to inform you and the general public that; necessary arrangements have been concluded by the North-West Zonal Sports Office of the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development in collaboration with Sokoto State Government for the conduct of the above tournament under the sponsorship of Dr. Engr. Musa Nimrod, President and North-West Zonal Representative on the Board of Nigeria Volleyball Federation,” it said.
According to the statement, Giginya Memorial Stadium Complex Sokoto will be the venue of the competition.
It informed that the competition will be held from February 24 to from 7:30am to 5:30pm daily.
The Zonal Sports Officer said that amongst other important prizes earmarked for the tournament, winners will smile away with balls, cash, certificates, jerseys, medals and trophies.
“It is expected that, prominent and emirates personalities would grace the occasion as the Executive Governor of Sokoto State: Tambuwal CFR. (Matawallen Sokoto) will be Honoured with merit-award among others,” the statement disclosed.
It pointed out that following the importance attached to the championship, the general public is invited to come and witness the brilliant exhibition of skills.
“Be further assured of our committed and general dedication for sustainable growth and developments of sports and its related activities at the grassroots and national levels,” it assured.
The North West Zone comprises Kano, Katsina, Kaduna, Jigawa, Kebbi, Zamfara and Sokoto states.
Sponsor, Engineer Musa Nimrod is the President of the NIgeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), as well as the Zonal Representative for North West on the NVBF Board
