President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod, who is also the Chairman Kaduna State Volleyball Association (KASAVA) has commended the organisers of the Dangana Memorial Volleyball Talent Hunt which ended in Zaria at the weekend.

He expressed this at the closing ceremony of the two-day competition, held at the Gifted Hands Volleyball Court, NAERLS Complex in Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.

Represented by the Secretary, Kaduna State Volleyball Association, Florence Yori, Nimrod called for others to emulate same all over the country, to develop the game at the grassroots.

“This is a good initiative. Hosting a competition that features non league teams will really help in developing sports at the grassroots,” he said.

Speaking further through his representative, he expressed desire to see female teams participate in future editions of the annual event, saying that it would help the state and by extension, NIgeria discover young females that would be groomed.

The NVBF President also advised the organisers to write formally to the Kaduna Volleyball Association, so that the Dangana Memorial Volleyball Talent Hunt can be included in its calendar of activities annually.
.
It would be recalled that the competition featured only players that have never played for the NIgerian teams and are not national league players.
