Nigerian Legion Begs FG To Establish Agency To Ease Their Sufferings

The Nigerian Legion has appealed to the Federal Government to established an agency that will ease their sufferings.
Acting Chairman of the association inKaduna State Chapter, Major Danjuma Baren

(rtd) made the appeal during emblem launch for the 2022 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration held at Arewa House, Kaduna.
He lamented the suffering of the dead and the living heroes and heroines which comprise delays of monthly arrears, benefiting from National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), neglecting their widowers and orphans, among others.
Major Baren pleaded with the Kaduna State Government to establish Corps of Commissionaires under the state chapter of the Nigerian Legion to improve revenue base of the state.
“We request his Excellency to kindly consider and support the Corps of Commissionaires establishment under the Kaduna State Chapter of the Nigerian Legion to enhance revenue base of the state.” Baren appealed.
In her speech earlier, the acting Governor of Kaduna State, Hadiza Balarabe urged the public to regard current servicemen and women with a greater degree of honour, and to salute their courage and the sacrifices they continue to make to ensure security of life and property of citizens.
“In the course of the ongoing internal security operations, many of them have suffered the direct physical impact of the battle, and many more bear indelible emotional scars.

“They have chosen to live for others at great cost. Wearing this emblem is far more than a mere ceremony or ritual. It is a conscious statement of undying support and a necessary expression of unending patriotism.” Balarabe explained.


The acting Governor added that the sacrifices of fallen heroes formed the foundation upon which a prosperous and peaceful society
is being built.
