A Nigerian and a female indigene of Oyo State, Faith Ebunoluwa Ojedokun on Tuesday July 4 in far away Russia, bagged First Class honours degree in Mechanical Engineering on Tuesday July 4, this year (2023) at Belgorod State University with the Green-white-green flag of Nigeria again flying proudly at the convocation.

Faith Ebunoluwa Ojedokun, an indigene of Ilero, Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo State made Nigeria proud at the Belgorod State University, which is one of the oldest  in Belgorod and the largest university in the  region.

The university has 25,000 students from 85 regions of Russia, 1,800 foreign students from 76 countries, 72 institutions and faculty, 2 branches, 98 departments and 74 research centers and laboratories. It is a well rated university in the whole of Europe.

Faith, who was admitted into the prestigious university in the year 2018, has always been a precocious academic genius. Her academic prodigy developed since her early age; winning her an award at her alma mater, The International School, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria.

During an interview with Faith Ebunoluwa’s father, Mr. Gbenga Ojedokun, who is a Research Administrator at Nigeria’s premier  University of Ibadan, Nigeria, he said, “Faith has consistently demonstrated uncanny academic abilities from birth. She has always been among the most studious and dedicated students in all of the schools she attended”.

According to Mr Ojedokun, Faith  always singlehandedly focussed on her studies and the pursuit of academic excellence, which has paid off now. I sincerely thank God for His grace upon my daughter’.

Faith attended Staff School, University of Ibadan, Nigeria for her primary education and The International School, University of Ibadan, Nigeria for her secondary school education.

On her future plans, Faith who has the mastery of both English and Russian Languages, said she would most certainly love to proceed on postgraduate studies after which she eagerly hope to return and contribute her quota to the development of her fatherland, Nigeria.

Indeed, for a young female who has proven her mettle by graduating with a First Class Honours degree in a male dominated profession as Mechanical Engineering, assistance from governments and private organisations in the pursuit of her higher laurels in academics and other chosen fields of human endeavours is highly desired.

It is noteworthy that Nigeria, nay the whole of black civilisation must invest in such promising future stars as Faith and her ilk.
