NGO Partners TotalEnergies, Launches Conservation Club In Kaduna School

An NGO, Nigeria Conservation Foundation (NCF) has established its conservation club in Government College Kaduna to promote environmental education.

Mohammed Boyi, Regional Coordinator, Nigeria Conservation Foundation (NCF) who made this known on Thursday in Kaduna.
According to him, the aim of the club is to promote climate and environmental education, encourage sustainable lifestyle through conducting environmental clean-up and planting of trees.
He said trees are very important to control climate change as they trap carbon pollution that gets to the atmosphere.
Boyi said the NGO is targeting on establishing environmental clubs in all schools in the country.
However he said establishing clubs at once cannot be possible as it will be in phases untill it is achived.
The Coordinator mentioned that the choice of Government college was to sensitize the school on climate change while preserving its history of tree planting.
” The college has a history of planting trees since the colonial era which are no longer available and we have to replace them.”
He said the activities were funded by TotalEnergies tagged; Green energy schools project.
Musa Ibrahim, Principal, Government College Kaduna, commended the NGO and Total Energies for the chioce of it’s school in the north.
He assured that the trees are going to be properly nutured so as to reap the benefits for which the trees are planted.
On the environmental cleanliness, Ibrahim said, it was ment to instill the sprit of cleanliness for the trees to grow.
The NGO planted trees, conducter an environmental clean up excercise.
They  also donated hand gloves, rakes, brooms, shovels and watering cans to the school.
