A radio programme, which will be targeting communities outside the studio, “Reality Radio” will be hitting the airwaves in Kaduna soon.
Assistant Secretary, Kaduna State Basic Education Accountability Mechanism (KADBEAM), Joshua James popularly known as JJ disclosed this at the closing of a two-day engagement with Journalists in Zaria, organised in collaboration with Partnership to Engage Reform and Learn (PERL), in collaboration with At the plenary, held on Tuesday 2021.
He explained that the programme, instead of being presented from the studio, will go to communities to interface with traditional and other opinion leaders.
Speaking further, James said that there are plans to form media coalition, where they come up with concept goals to seek grants to do projects.
“We can register as a community based coalition. We might have two or three media coalitions, depending on the interests, so that grants can be accessed” he said.
JJ said that the coalitions can rub minds together to develop concept notes.
Reacting to the suggestion on a coalition, Alex Uangbaoje of News Web Express advised that for the coalitions to work, only journalists that are interested should be considered as members.
He suggested that journalists should be trained on how to write proposals to access grants.
