Fourty-five were selected out of over 200 players from the first phase of trials to recruit talented squad that will ply their trade in newly floated Real Bees FC Kaduna.
Fielding questions from newsmen at the end of the phase one at the Kaduna Township Stadium at the weekend, Honourable Abdulazeez who is the CEO of the club, informed that those selected will be pitched against professionals in the second phase that begins this week.
He explained that the new club has two teams, with one playing in the National League, while the second would be featuring in the Nationwide League 1.
“We are however contemplating moving the team for Nationwide League 1 to have Birnin Kebbi as its home ground,” he said.
Honourable Abdulazeez said that the President of the club, former Minister of Sports, Honourable Saidu Samaila Sambawa floated both teams out of his genuine love for sports and as an avenue to discover budding talents from the grassroots.
When asked how the team intends to be sustained considering the huge financial resources required to manage a football club successfully, he said they have already thought it all and are prepared to run it as a huge business venture it is meant to be.
“You will see a completely different pattern of running football. We will pick the best legs and market them in Europe and Asia where we already have a market waiting,” he said.
He said their partners abroad are ready to accept their players for trials.
“I want to assure you we will run it as a business. We are renovating our club house and we will have a sports shop where our jerseys and memorabilia will be sold to fans who will soon be identifying with the team,” he said.
On how they came about with the name Real Bees, he said that the President of the club has an academy called Real Stars Sports Academy from where they got the ‘Real’ while ‘Bees’ is a name most Kaduna football fans are familiar with.
