Asomugha disclosed that the organization, began the vocational training in two phases between 2008 and 2010. , saying  the training was conceived by the Director-General of the NDE Mallam Abubakar Mohammed in order to alleviate the dependency of people with disability through empowerment and resettlement.
His words: ‘In view of the huge successes recorded in the previous training, it is expedient to carry out another round of training nationwide which is premised on the increasing population of vulnerable persons in both the urban and rural areas nationwide, and its implication on the unemployment problem in the country’ the State Coordinator said.
The Coordinator, who personally interacted with the trainees told newsmen that the training which shall last for three months is to reduce unemployment, Street begging, veiled begging, and other social vices.
The NDE according to him,  also hopes to remove disillusionment among persons with special needs (the vulnerable and physically challenged) and imbue them with a sense of self- worth and self- confidence through the provision of marketable skills and reduce their dependency on other people thereby reducing poverty.
