The National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA) has handed over a befitting facility, modern generator as well as medical equipment to the Primary Healthcare Clinic in Dong Village of Jos North Local Government Area to enhance healthcare Service delivery to residents of the locality.
The Coordinator Martha Nigeria Limited , Doctor Obi Chike who handed over the facility and medical equipment on behalf of the agency, said the organization is partnering the Association of Local Government Chairmen (ALGON) to provide quality healthcare services to the door step of the citizens.
He noted that it is not enough to build a facility, but maintaining it is also key.
He advised the local council to start operating the facility which according to him is ready for use.
The Executive Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council, Shehu Bala Usman while inspecting the facility and medical equipment, appreciated the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency for building a modern Healthcare center in the area.
Usman noted that the facility cited in Dong Village will go a long way in ensuring inhabitants of the area have access to standard and qualitative primary healthcare services.
The Chairman assured of the commitment of his administration to deploy adequate manpower and other necessary support for immediate operation of the facility.
He lamented the activities of criminally minded elements who recently entered the facility and carted away some doors and other electrical equipment as unfortunate and directed the immediate engagement of Ten personnel of the Hunters Association of Nigeria in Dong to guard the facility.
Those present at the handing over of the facility and Hospital equipment include, the permanent Secretary Local Government Service Commission Henry Langkwap, Traditional Rulers, Hunters Association of Nigeria as well as Dong Youth Vanguard.
