Nasarawa Youth To Embark On Long Trek To Celebrate SDP’s Wadada Victory

Two youth are set to commence trekking from Kwatan-Guto in Nasarawa LGA to Keffi, to celebrate the victory of Hon. Ahmed Aliyu Wadada of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the just-concluded election of Nasarawa West Senatorial District. 

They made this known on Monday, stating that they would commence the trekking on Tuesday February 28 (yesterday).

Kwatan-Guto is a village bordering Nasarawa and Kogi states with a distance of over 100km to Keffi.

Wadada scored 96,488 votes to defeat his closest rival and candidate of the All  Progressives Congress (APC), Architect Shehu Ahmad Tukur to emerge as winner of the election in the results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). 

Tukur the preferred candidate of a former Senator of the district and current National Chairman of APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu scored 47,717 votes.

Wadada, who contested the seat for the third time had been losing to Senator Adamu in  narrow defeats.
