In her effort to alleviate the suffering and live up to the mandate of their association, the coordinator Nigerian Army officers Wives Association (NAOWA), Mrs Fauziya Garba has donated food items to widows in Gibson Jalo Cantonment.
Speaking during the event, Mrs Garba reiterated that the gesture seems little, but has a lasting impact on the lives of the beneficiaries.
She maintained that the association will continue to consider charity and empowerment as its priority while striving to alleviate the suffering of not only widows in the cantonment, but the entire barracks community.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Christiana Patrick thanked NAOWA members for assisting widows who lost their husbands on the line of duty.
In a related development, the Coordinator paid a courtesy visit to Commander 23 Brigade Yola, Brigadier General Aminu Garba where she highlighted some challenges being faced by the sssociation.
In his response, the Commander appreciated members and pledged to remodel the Cantonment Entrepreneur Skill Aquisition Centre to be part of NAOWA Assets for empowerment and revenue generation.
