The Director National Agricultural And Extension Liasing Services (NAERLS), Professor Khalid Othman has called for effective communication in the agricultural development in Nigeria.
He made call while declaring open a two-day training workshop on Policy Communication Course For Academics and Journalists organised by International Food Policy Research Institute at NAERLS/ABU Zaria on Thursday.
Prof. Othman said the workshop will accord the Journalists the opportunity to bring out a very solid ideas that will promote agricultural development in the country.
He advised the participants to find ways of informing policy makers on the need to focus on the need to focus their attention on agricultural development.
Also speaking the communication officer NAERLS Dr. Anagwa Godfery call on the Journalists to transmit what they learn to the general public particularly the end users.
He said only Media knows how to influence youths to embrace agriculture as well to know the values of being productive.
The participants were drawn from various media outfit and academician and agric communication staff of the NAERLS.
