Masari Orders Reopening Of Petrol Stations, Cattle Markets In Katsina State

Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State has approved the immediate reopening of all filling stations and cattle markets earlier closed down on the account of cattle rustling and armed banditry in the state. 

Governor Aminu Masari in a statement by Director Press to Secretary to the Government of the State, Alhaji Abdullahi Aliyu Yar’adua instructed the two Emirate Councils in the state namely Katsina and Daura to admonish district and village heads of the affected areas to be vigilant and ensure  that no act of connivance by butchers traditional titled holders “Sarakunan Fawa and others is allowed.” 


 Alhaji Abdullahi Aliyu Yar’adua said in the statement which was signed by Secretary to the State Government, Dr Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa that Government would not hesitate to re-enact the closure where a resurgence of any dubious activity is noticed. 


 The statement recalled that the affected filling stations and markets were closed down as part of the Security Challenges Containment Order issued by the government to curtail supply of fuel and  transactions of rustled animals to bandits in the state.
