A total of 5,471,028 Insecticide Treated Nets (ITNs) will be distributed to all the households in Kaduna State simultaneously from July 7 to 18, 2022.

This was disclosed at a  one-day media parley organised by the Federal Ministry  of Health in collaboration with the Society for Family Health in Kaduna, with participants urged to create awareness on dangers of malaria.

At the parley held on Wednesday June 21, 2022, at Al-Ihsan Metro Hotel, Mogadishu, Kaduna, focus was mainly on the need to create awareness on the use of Insecticide Treated Nets (ITNs).

Delivering a paper, Mr. Daniel Gbue David said that the media should facilitate subsidized media placements for ITNs promotions, provide adequate media publicity before, during and after the campaigns

The media was also urged to continue promoting the use of ITNs after the campaign as part of corporate social responsibility.

They were also urged to follow process through, to get interesting and educative human interest stories.

He said some of the concerns surrounding ITNs can be addressed through keeping their windows open for fresh air to reduce heat.

“Feeling of discomfort will reduce as you continue to use the net. Remember to use your net even if you sleep outside,” he advised.
