Make Research Findings Available For Agricultural Development – Minister

The Minister of Education,

Malam Adamu Adamu has charged agricultural institutions in the country to make their research findings available to public for agricultural development in Nigeria. 
He gave the charge  at the Centenary celebration of Samaru College of Agriculture, Division of Agricultural Colleges,  Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria on Monday December 6, 2021. 
Represented by Dr. Rukayya Iliyasu, Director University Education in the ministry, he said Nigeria is growing fast and the issue of food security is a very serious concern. 
Malam Adamu Adamu said with the new technologies and innovation in agriculture and with agricultural research institutes, Nigeria will be proud with the intellectuals it has on ground. 
He congratulated the college for the Centenary celebration and urged them to maintain records of achievement. 
In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Professor Kabiru Bala recalled how the college started and the achievements it recorded from 1921 to 2021.
He assured the college of the university management’s support and encouragement to continue achieving success. 
The Vice Chancellor congratulated the Collage of Agriculture and Division of Agricultural  Colleges for attaining 100 years.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Director, Professor Musa Abdullahi Mahdi said in the last 100 years, the collage has produced a number of Nigerians who attained a high positions in the agricultural sector. 
Prof. Mahdi noted with the achievement recorded so far the College being in the forefront in producing professional manpower for the agricultural sector. 
He said the collage will not relent on its mandate for training middle manpower who will transform agriculture to be a value chain. 
During the ceremony, many projects were commissioned  and a lot of agricultural produce were exhibited alongside agric mechanization fabricated by the students of the college.
