Ahead of Saturday January 20, 2024 Local Government Councils elections, Executive Director Network for CSOs Borno State (NECSOB), Ambassador Comrade Bulama Abiso on Wednesday, disclosed that arrangements have been concluded with the Borno State Independent Electoral Commission (BOSIEC ) for the network to mobilize its members across the state to monitor or observe the general conduct of the forthcoming LG election across the 27 LGAs.
Comrade Abiso who revealed this during a briefing/meeting with the members of the network, also highlighted specific key areas where the network will prioritize observation or monitoring exercise, which includes overall general conduct of the election, gender participation, inclusiveness of the general election and security provision among others.
He added that the briefing was sequel to receipt of the formal approval from BOSIEC for the network to observe the LGCs election.
During the meeting, members were also instructed or taken through how to apply some electoral materials as working tools that will to be used during the election.
The Executive Director further called on members of the NECSOB to endeavour to comply with the stipulated rules and regulations of the LG polls as well as adhere strictly to the guidelines spelt out for the general conduct of the elections across the 27 LGAs of the state as the network is expected to submit its findings on the election to the commission on the general conduct of the polls.
