The Convener of Congress of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN), Comrade Andrew Emelieze on Sunday called for stakeholders in the association to embrace peace and safe the union from further crisis
Comrade Emelieze made the call in a letter to stakeholders in the association on the prolonged crisis rocking ASCSN.
According to Comrade Emelieze, the time has come for stakeholders in the union to rise and salvage the union from its present crisis ridden position.
He stressed that as part of the way out of the union’s present predicament, there is the urgent need for an independent forensic administrative and financial audit of the association.
” Members must break silence and hold the Union accountable. Enough of the manipulations. The Union belong to its members and the decisions of the Congress must count. We have tolerated this abnormalities enough, it is our welfare that is at stake. It is time all members of the Union rise up and hold the Union accountable for it’s actions and in-actions”, he said..
Comrade Emelieze added, ” the Secretary General at 65 years is called upon to step down and retire honourable.and if the Secretary General refuses to yield to our humble appeal to retire at sixty five years on his terminal date of September 29, 2021 ; all members of the Union are called upon to mobilise heavily and occupy all ASCSN secretariat nationwide from September 29, 2021 to compel him to go”.
He stressed further that other demands of the union members includes ” justice for the sacked staff of the Union and their reinstatement, return to status quo, and the reinstatement of our President, Bola Innocent Audu and withdrawal of all petitions and litigations by members of the Union in these crisis”That there is need to rework the constitution of the Union.
” No victimization of any member directly or indirectly connected to the ASCSN crisis. members join or form independent platforms/ congresses to checkmate Union’s activities nationwide”.
Comrade Emelieze stated, ” this is a peace move that all members are called upon to safe our Union from further crisis. Arise now all members of our great Union.There is nothing to be afraid of, the Union belongs to the workers, let us democratise it now.”
